2009 July Zone Meeting - Tiger Point Golf and Country Club
July 16, 2009 - The July Zone Meeting was held at Tiger Point Golf and Country Club
in Gulf Breeze, Florida. The informative and interesting webcast featured Tom Marzolf and Bob Lohmann, both past presidents of ASGCA, and was entitled "Planning for Replacement: How Long Does this Stuff Last?" This program reviewed the age of the component parts of the golf course and their expected life span. This is the kind of timely information that superintendents need to help priortize future maintenance expenditures. Also, a great brochure produced by the American Society of Golf Course Architects was available. Several local golf course architects were on hand to answer any questions the attendees had regarding this issue. After the unique presentation and Q & A, the attendees had lunch and played
golf. Winners of the event were Steve Dana, Eddie Daigle and Wayne Phillips.
