2008 Hidden Creek - July Meeting
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 - The July Meeting was held today at Hidden Creek Golf Club and was a great success from start to finish.
The Educational Session was entitled "Managing Your Nutrient Budget - Facing the Challenge of Rising Fertilizer Prices"
and was presented by Dr. Jason Dettman-Kruse. From the University of Florida in Gainesville, Dr. Dettman-Kruse's presentation was well received, much appreciated and very timely.
He identified many of the reasons for rising fertilizer prices,
and talked about controlled release fertilizer technologies and how fertilizer programs can be adjusted
to reduce expenses while maintaining turfgrass quality.
After the meeting, most in attendance
participated in the golf tournament. A big thank you goes out to our host, Brian Howell, Superintendent at Hidden Creek who provided
us with a wonderful location and beautiful golf course to hold this event for the Gulf Coast GCSA Chapter. We also want to extend another thank you to our guest speaker,
Dr. Jason Dettman-Kruse
